Task 1 (15 points)¶

Download elevation data for Mt Rainier here and a shapefile containing the outlines of the major glaciers here. The shapefile is from the Global Land Ice Measurements from Space (GLIMS) project which has mapped the extent of all glaciers on Earth.

a) Which are the five largest glaciers by area?
b) Which five glaciers have the highest mean elevation?
c) Which five glaciers have the highest minimum elevation?
d) Which five glaciers span the most elevation (i.e. difference between maximum and minimum elevation)?
